The National Energy Commission (CNE) estimated, after the measures adopted by the Government last year, economic sustainability of the gas system can be achieved with only up-regulated the gas bill, known as tolls, at rates similar to those of the CPI in the period between 2014 and 2020.

This consideration is highlighted in a report on the sustainability of the gas system after the approval of Royal Decree Law 13/2012, that did impose rises 5% in tolls in April and 1% January, infrastructure suspension and new methodologies for calculating remuneration.

Despite displayed confident that these increases in line with inflation will be enough to prevent the gas system experience a shortfall in electricity tariff as, CNE warns that we must take into account the environment in which prices move gas late in Spain and the impact thereof on demand.
